On Easter 2025, we can look at all that seems wrong in the world and ask, where are you God? Or we can go to the Empty Tomb and hear our name spoken. One Collect (from the Episcopal Book of Common Prayer) for Easter reminds us that before the resurrection was the cross. Our call is to die daily to sin, that we may evermore live with him in the joy of his resurrection. During Holy Week, we looked at and lived Jesus’ last days. Now we can live into the resurrection with Him.
With and in Christ we have new life. We can be the seed of new life in all the small ways we bring Christ’s love into our little corners of the world. Each of us has the gift and ability to make a difference right where we are. Happy Easter!
O God, who for our redemption gave your only-begotten Son
to the death of the cross, and by his glorious resurrection delivered us from
the power of our enemy: Grant us so to die daily to sin, that we may evermore
live with him in the joy of his resurrection; through Jesus Christ your Son our
Lord, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and for
ever. Amen.
